Navarov Chateau

The Navarov Chateau complex, a protected heritage site, is located in the Jablonec region of the Liberec Region above the wild valley of the Kamenice River. The oldest buildings date from the 17th century and were built in the early Baroque style by Maria Angela de Lamotte. The original estate consisted of many buildings (the chateau itself, stables, brewery, barn, malthouse, gamekeeper's lodge, etc.), and the grounds also included a romantic park with a gazebo and an orchard. Only part of the original buildings has survived to this day, as the chateau complex underwent complicated structural changes in the past and, at the beginning of the 21st century, was in very poor condition due to inappropriate construction interventions and simple neglect. Today, the chateau is privately owned and managed, and was restored by its owners in 2017.
